ZioGiorgio Visits Osram in Berlin

ZioGiorgio tells you all about the workshop held by Osram for the most important clients of the entertainment world.

ZioGiorgio had the privilege to participate to the workshop organized by Osram, and had the chance to enjoy the hospitality of the company.

About one hundred “professionals” coming from all over Europe participated to the first “LIGHT INSIDE 2007” event, which offered a well designed program:
Day 1:
- Meeting on “Halogen lamps, innovation and outlooks”
- Conference: “Metal Halide, today and tomorrow technologies”
- Report of the guest light designer Ulrich Kunkel “Illumination needs and outlooks”
- Berlin by night (boat)
Day 2:
- Company tour
- Meeting on “Led, Great Expectations”
- Debate and suggestions from the participants

The friendly climate characterized the various stages of the two days; the event was chaired in turn by:

The introduction was obviosuly centered on the various segments and fields of application of Osram technology:

Entertainment (slightly growing)
Studio TV Film (slightly growing)
Architainment (stronglygrowing)
Healthcare (steady)
Industrial, technical (steady)
Airfield (growing)

80% of the turnover for the entertainment sector is generated by Europe and the Nafta countries (Canada, Mexico, United States), while Asia regions have become a strong objective for future growth.

The latest products were described in detail during the workshop:

In particular, Osram strategy as far as LED technology for entertainment is concerned will take into account different strategies to fulfil the objective to become the reference partner for OEM companies (i.e., companies that produce equipment with original materials) both for standard and custom LED solutions and applications. These strategies will be:

. Close collaboration with OEM companies
. Partnership with the R&D departments of OEM companies
. Assistance by means of the laboratories of the DO ENT (Display Optic Entertainment) division
. Creation of prototypes and demo products
. Development of projects based on client requests
. Use of Osram structures for product development and production

As far as the entertainment sector is concerned, Osram highlighted its objectives and strategies:

Objectives
. Intensify the partnership with distributors and OEM clients
. Lead the market through innovation
. Change from “components supplier” to “solutions supplier”
. Become reference partner for LED technology

Actions/measures
. Product development based on different applications (Co-Development, collaborations, modularity)
. Product and Marketing campaign for LOK-IT!
. Expansion of the PAR/AluPar concept
. Strengthening of the local sale-force for growing regions (China and Eastern Europe…)
. Collaborations, in terms of Marketing and technical workshops, with distributors and OEM companies
. Thorough evaluation of the LED market segments and systems (Entertainment, Airfield, Healthcare, etc.)

At the end of the two days, the ZioGiorgio staff, very satisfied and full of energy, got some city-bikes to enjoy the opportunity to make a wonderful tour of such an extraordinary and really live city as Berlin.
