Nexo Geo Technology for Corona Music Fest
Azteca Stadium in Mexico City is one of the largest stadia in the world, the home stadium of Mexico’s national team.
3 different sound stages, 3 different sound rental providers. The Corona Music Fest is a remarkable example of collaboration within the family of Nexo users.
The yellow Amarillo stage was the largest of the three, hosting the festival headliners Iggy & the Stooges. Guadalajara PA company Star provided a system comprising 18x GEO T cabinets plus 10x CD18 per side, Nexo Alpha with CD18s for sidefill (at the special request of Iggy Pop who likes a lot of sub in the sidefill) and a PS15 monitor system.
The red Rojo stage was equipped with a GEO S system, proudly supplied by Celso Moreno from Back Line. 18x GEO S with 4x CD18s per side, with a PS15 monitor rig.
For the Blue stage, the PA company Tecnoson Espectaculos had brought in a GEO D system, with 16x D10 plus 8x CD18s per side. Once again, Alpha cabs were used for sidefill, and the monitoring was handled by PS10 and PS15 boxes.
With artists like Iggy Pop, Amigos Invisibles, the Futureheads and Azulvioleta, this is one of the most important events in Mexico’s live music calendar. According to Sergio Zenteno, the sound designer responsible for all the stages, the results were amazing.
