Animal Collective Uses Geo S12

In Serbia, new NEXO GEO user Light & Sound Design is already discovering the capabilities of its new GEO S12 + NXAMP rental system, which has proved a complete winner at concerts in the infamous SKC Hall in Belgrade.

The SKC or Student Cultural Centre attracts major bands not only from the Balkans, but also from the rest of Europe and North America. Its largest and most flexible venue is a 220 sq. m hall with columns and a balcony for an authentic atmosphere. In concert mode, it will accommodate 1000 people standing.

Milan Scepanovic of Light & Sound Design freely admits that the acoustics for the venue are “horrible! The Hall is infamous; it has a flat marble floor and a hollow ceiling, which means that there is extremely low intelligibility for most sound reinforcement systems.”

Until now. Light & Sound Design has supplied its new GEO S12 system, powered by NXAMPS, for concerts by avant-garde New York musicians Animal Collective and cult Californian band American Music Club.

“The press reviews for the shows have been using superlatives,” reports Milan. “Words like ‘fantastic’, ‘unbelievable’, ‘perfect’ and so on. We’ve received compliments from our fellow audio professionals as well as members of the audience. The GeoS12 and NXAMP combination worked flawleslys and everyone was satisfied, including the bands and promoters. We didn’t get to use our new CD18s on those shows, but now they’ve arrived, we think we can improve on the system even further.”
