Philips presented new ergonomic stage lamp at LDI

Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) is to give entertainment lighting designers even greater creative freedom by introducing a new ergonomic stage lamp designed to fit highly compact fixtures while still delivering highly bright performance.

The Philips MSD Platinum 5 R lamp is just one of a number of new entertainment lighting solutions from Philips to be showcased by at LDI’09. The lamp has been developed to give lighting designers freedom to position fixtures at virtually every position of a stage, while maintaining the desired light level of larger lamps in less flexible locations. As a result, the Philips MSD Platinum 5 R lamp features a very short arc, generating extreme high brightness.

The lamp is underpinned by Philips’ MSD technology ensuring, long lifetime and an extreme brightness punch as a result of the high colour temperature delivered by the system.

Other Philips solutions at LDI’09 include the latest examples from the FastFit range of lamps which, since its introduction in 2006 has become a popular choice amongst OEM lighting developers, enabling more than 70 fixtures available from some 20 OEM partners. The FastFit range has now been expanded to include lower wattage lamps, with a smaller type of lamp base - MiniFastFit - developed to accommodate more compact lighting fixtures.
