Roland Systems Group introduced two new products in the RSS Series: M-300 digital compact live mixing console and S-MADI REAC Bridge

Roland Systems Group has expanded its extensive V-Mixing System lineup by introducing the new M-300 Digital Mixing Console. The M-300 V-Mixer is a 32-channel console that possesses many of the powerful features and extensive benefits of the award-winning M-400 V-Mixer but in a very compact format.

The M-300 Mixing Console provides a third console choice in the growing V-Mixing System lineup that also consists of Digital Snakes, Personal Mixing and Multi-Channel Recording. Its size and affordability allows smaller to mid-sized venues to replace their analog consoles with a digital mixing solution. The M-300 Live Mixing Console can be rack-mounted, and is ideal for any event production, houses of worship, education, government and corporate applications.

The M-300 V-Mixer features rapid recall of setups, 17 - 100mm motorized faders, an 800 x 480 color screen, and knobs for EQ, Pan, and Gain. The M-300 has 32 mixing channels and includes digital patch-bays, built-in effects processors including comprehensive output delays, 8 Auxs, 4 Matrices, 4 DCAs, 4 Mute Groups, built-in stereo recording/playback and support for LCR configurations.

This fully digital system is built on REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) and eliminates the bulk and noise susceptibility typically associated with analog snakes and replaces it with cat5e (Ethernet/LAN) cable. It is easy to use and sets up in minutes by plugging in one lightweight cat5e cable from a choice of Digital Snake stage units (allowing the user to select from up to 160 inputs using REAC Merge technology) making it ideal for portable applications and corporate events.

The system generates superior sound quality by converting analog inputs to 24-bit digital streams at the stage end via high-quality mic preamps located near the source. The V-Mixing System then secures the quality of audio signal throughout the complete system path en route to the M-300 V-Mixer, back to any outputs and on to limitless split positions.

The 40-channel assignable output split can be used with the powerful M-48 Personal Mixing System and the Multi-Channel Recording options from Cakewalk. For existing M-400 or M-380 owners, the M-300 is ideal of an addition monitor or broadcast/record position.

The intuitive interface applauded in the M-400 has been retained in the M-300 making it easy to learn and easy to use. Novice users will also appreciate the on-board Help system.

The M-300 V-Mixer integrates with PCs via its Remote Control Software for additional control or sending/receiving setup data allowing users to prepare channel setups and configurations before arriving at the venue.

Roland Systems Group’s breakthrough V-Mixing System along with this new M-300 V-Mixer is the answer to high-quality live digital audio control and distribution and represents a new level in affordability, configurability and convenience.

Also unveiled at Infocomm in the USA, the new S-MADI REAC Bridge opens the door to a multiplicity of digital connection opportunities for REAC products such as the V-Mixing Consoles, M-48 Live Personal Mixer and Digital Snakes.

Inspired by high levels of interest in the M-48 personal mixer system from manufacturers and users of large-format consoles, notably the team at DiGiCo, engineers at Roland have designed a bi-directional signal converter between MADI and REAC, (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication), the proprietary protocol developed by Roland to meet the market’s need for a point-to-point 24 bit/ 96kHz, low latency digital audio transport.

The S-MADI REAC Bridge enables connectivity between any MADI-equipped digital audio mixer/system and any of Roland’s REAC products, enabling the use of the award-winning V-Mixing Consoles as sub-mixers with many large-format digital mixing consoles. It also facilitates easy distribution and splitting of audio from V-Mixing Systems or Digital Snake systems to outside broadcast trucks and other MADI-equipped locations.

The S-MADI REAC Bridge features:

·     40 channels of bi-directional conversion between REAC and MADI
·     MADI coaxial and optical I/O
·     Support for REAC Embedded Power to power M-48 Personal Mixer and/or S-0808 I/O unit
·     Support for 44.1/48 kHz with locking to WORD, MADI or REAC clocks
·     56 and 64 channel REAC/MADI offset support
