Las Vegas’ Silverton Casino recently inaugurated an outdoor venue intended to host events of all kinds

Las Vegas’ (Nevada, U.S.A.) Silverton Casino recently inaugurated an outdoor venue intended to host events of all kinds. Over 1,000 people gathered to see one of the all-time pop formations Kool & the Gang.

Sound reinforcement for the group was provided by HAS Production Services and the Aero 38A, D.A.S. Audio’s new self-powered linear array system. Larry Hall was in charge of the event’s sound reinforcement placing four self-powered Aero 38A speakers with an additional four CA-28A self-powered speakers for front fill at each side of the stage. The smaller CA-28A speakers were flown directly below the Aero 38A enclosures using the AX-Combo support structure which allows for combined rigging and support.

Since its recent introduction less than a year ago, D.A.S. Audio’s self-powered Aero 38A linear array system has met great acceptance in the U.S. thanks to its flawless performance in live applications requiring high output levels and precise control over vertical sound coverage. It is no coincidence that D.A.S. Audio’s Aero 28A and 38A linear array systems have been used extensively in various venues in Las Vegas, well-known for the excellent quality of its shows.

Kool & the Gang has been around since the mid-60’s when the band was created by Robert Bell and his brother Ronald. The group received a Grammy Award back in 1976 for their song “Open Sesame” featured in the soundtrack of the film “Saturday Night Fever” starring John Travolta. In 1979, two new voices joined the Gang: Earl Toon Jr. and James (J.T.) Taylor, a former New Jersey nightclub singer. With this new lineup, the band recorded the album “Ladies’ Night” which earned them three consecutive platinum records and is still considered as Kool & the Gang’s best album to date.
