D.A.S. Seminar in Las Vegas

The “North American Aero Line Array Training Seminar” was held on October 18th and 19th at the Fitzgerald Hotel in Las Vegas

Valencia based firm D.A.S. Audio keeps on with its worldwide seminars and conferences. The “North American Aero Line Array Training Seminar” was held on October 18th and 19th at the Fitzgerald Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. The seminar was addressed to U.S. Aero line array system users as well as potential clients. At the same time, the new Variant line array as well as the new EASE Focus software were presented to the U.S. market.

The main seminar speakers were Ashok Maharaj, the well-known independent professional audio consultant for Venezuela; Javier Navarro, D.A.S. Audio sound engineer; Kevin Hill, Head of Sales for the U.S.; Ramón Franco, Sales Representative for Colombia and Technical Adviser for Latin America; and Jack Palacio, International Sales Director of D.A.S. Audio. Roberto Giner, D.A.S. Marketing Director, as well as all sales representatives for the U.S. also were present in the seminar.

Close to 90 people attended the sessions which focused mainly on the line array theory and the development of its technical features and applications. Kevin Hill opened the session by outlining the contents of the seminar ahead. Javier Navarro exposed the technical configurations of the Aero systems, equipment calibration, flown systems together with parameters configuration and operating procedures for digital processors. Ashok Maharaj’s talk focused on live sound measurement systems. In closing the seminar, Jack Palacio offered a presentation featuring the different Aero line array applications across the world.

The practical part consisted of an outdoor demo, in the famous Freemont street, set up by the Las Vegas based “HAS Production Services,” under the direction of Larry Hall.

The first day of the seminar six Aero 38A powered line array units plus four Aero 218A 2K were installed at each side of the stage. The following day the installation was comprised of four Aero 48, two Aero 28 and four Aero 218 2K.

On the 21st while the LDI fair was also taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, a live performance was offered at Freemont Street Experience stage. This part of the D.A.S. Aero outdoor demo was enhanced by the installation of six Aero 38A per stage side plus four Aero 218 Sub 2000 for low frequency reproduction.
